Welcome to the Meet5 Community!
We’re open, friendly, and easy-going with each other, and that’s how we keep our community fun and respectful for everyone. To help make every interaction a great one, here are a few basic guidelines to follow to make the best of your Meet5 experience:
- The Golden Rule: Treat others the way you’d like to be treated.
- Clear Communication: Express yourself clearly and kindly.
- Show Your Face: We want to know who we’re meeting. Your first profile picture should be recent, and clearly show your face. Avoid filters and editing. We want to see the real you!
- Respect Each Other: Be on time. Send a message if you'll be late. If you have to cancel, do it as early as you know you can't come.
- Make Real Commitments: Don’t register for overlapping meetups. Avoid last-minute cancellations just to switch to another event. And please, never show up without being listed in the participant list.
- Bringing Guests, Children, or Pets: Want to bring a friend, a baby, or your dog? Ask in the group chat first and be okay with the answer being no. You never know if someone's allergic or really needs this adult-only quiet.
- Respect the Activity Creator: Someone took their own time to plan. Don’t change the activity idea (a wine tasting doesn’t become a few beers). If you copy an activity, write your own title and description. If advance payment is needed, pay promptly. Cancelled but still owe money? Make sure the creator isn’t left covering costs.
- Be Considerate: Meet5 is about good vibes. That means: Zero tolerance for harassment, insults, discrimination, or offensive content anywhere: in chats, activities, or descriptions. Zero tolerance for sexualized activities (this includes things like swinger events, BDSM, strip clubs or nudist beaches). If you are caught conducting this behavior, you will be removed from the app immediately.
- Creating Second Groups: If you create a second group for the same event, your group has to meet separately. You must meet independently of the other group, even if the activity takes place at the same time or on the same day. You’ll need to make your own reservations if needed.
- No Commercial Use: Meet5 is a non-commercial platform. Only our approved partners can post promotional activities which are carefully selected to benefit the community.
What Happens if the Rules Are Broken?
We believe in second chances, but protecting the community comes first. If needed, we may:
- Restrict your ability to sign up for new meetups for 48 hours
- Temporarily suspend your account
- Permanently remove your access to Meet5
These rules are here to help guide you and bring clarity in everyday situations. Most importantly, have a great time and be kind to one another.
