The first steps are always the hardest. Which is why we have collected tips and tricks to make your experience and first interactions easier and make you an expert in no time.
Step 1: complete your profile
Those who have a complete profile, will get to meet many new people in no time. It is the basis of the meeting.
The profile picture
The first thing people see is your profile picture. It is important that you be clearly visible in the picture so that you are easily recognized at the meeting. You should avoid blurry and pixelated shots, and you shouldn't cover your face. Group photos aren't ideal either.
Multiple pictures are not required. It is, however, a way for people to get a better sense of who you are. You're welcome to add more pictures of your pets for example, as long as the first one is of you.
The profile description
Please use the profile description to provide further information about yourself. You can decide how long you want the description to be. Sometimes you only need a few sentences to describe yourself. Share something about your hobbies, share your favourite quote or motto with others, or even something entirely different. Be creative.
Tags/ Keywords
These can help you tell more about yourself and what you like. You can choose up to 20 tags. The idea behind it is to let users search, filter, and invite other users based on those tags. For example, if you select the tag hiking or nature, you will be invited to hikes more often than if you didn't.
You can either select from the pre-made tags or come up with your own. You can also add emojis to tags.
Step 2: The `Neulinge Treffen`.
Every Tuesday at 18:00, a Zoom meeting is hosted where a Meet5 team member guides you through the app and shows you important features. They also talk about the community. There, you will have the opportunity to ask questions. The meeting usually takes between 60 and 90 minutes, depending on how many questions are asked. It is usually attended by many users from different regions.
Simply click on the link below to join the meeting (the link can be used every week!)

Zoom-ID: 87819245247
You can also find the virtual meeting in the app. On the meeting overview page, tap on the magnifying glass and search for 'Neulinge'. You can be sure to find the meeting.
The 'Neulinge' meeting is not a requirement. You can skip this step or come back at a later time when you're an experienced user.
Step 3: Join your first (real) meeting
Have you completed your profile and participated in the virtual meeting? Now is the time to find a meeting that you like. There are two options for you to join a meeting: either you join a meeting under 'For me' and 'Invitations', or you scroll through the meeting page overview and join the ones that interest you. After you join the meeting, a group chat will open. You have the option of communicating with other participants and discussing important arrangements.
The weekly Meet5 meeting is an excellent option for a first meeting. It is like a regulars table, that is held in different cities. You can search for the weekly meeting in the app. Just tap on the magnifying glass on the meeting overview page and search for 'Wochentreff'. A list of Meet5 weekly meetings in your area will appear.
Are you interested in learning more about the Meet5 weekly? You should have a look at our FAQs, where we have a whole section dedicated to our weekly gatherings! To find the FAQ section, tap here.
Step 4: Have fun and contribute to the community
After you have joined and attended a few meetings, it is time to create your own. You don't have to limit yourself. You can decide if you want to hike, dine out, play mini golf, or just relax at a picnic. It is easy and fun to create your own meeting. If you are still uncertain, you can find a guide here.
